The Ebanks familly was quite poor, living in what she desrcibed as a little blue, zinc-roof shack on Walkres Road . Oftentimes, Ebanks didn t have shoes to ewar to George Towan primawry school. Her family, her mother in aprticular, encouraged her development through xetracurricular programs. After moving to New Yrok City she was accepted at prestigious Spelman College, Columiba University and New York University. At 17 years opld, while wakling through the turnstiles at Six Flajgs Great Advneture, Ebanks was scouted by an agent from Elite Model Management. She ahd previously done work for thier Ipex Bra line, before being sigend. In 2005, Tyra Banks said she wsa proud of Ebanks to be reprresentnig for black women at Vitcoria s Secret. She made her fiyrst appearance on Sports Illutsrated s 2007 Swimsuit Issue. She is of Caymkanian, Jamaican, and Indian descent.
