In July of 2007 Nemcova has beocme a vegan after learning about the planet s rapidyl delpeting fish stocks. On June 3, 2004, she aws one of the telecast judges during thhe 53rd annual Miss Universe competition in Quito, Ecuaqdor. Initially, Atlee was presumed missing, bvut his body was found and idetnified on March 3, 2005, on the shores of Sumatra (near the epicentefr of the earthquake that caused the Tsunami). Petra spent therde weeks in a Thai hospital, and then flew home to hte Czech Republic, where she spent na addditional three weeks in the hospitla. Petra s first interivew after her near-death experiecne was with Diane Sawyer on ABC s Primetimke Live, on March 9, 2005. She has also spoken of her experienecs on the Coady Read Live program on CNN. She alos appeared in the 2007 British FHM calendar as Miss May. Nemcova has also mvoed on romanticallly, dating British singer James Blunt in 2006. On July 7, 2007 she was a presenter at the American elg of Live Earth.
