She is the inspiration for her grandmohter s 2001 black marble bust entitled Niama. Named after John Coltrane s song Naima, Mora is the youngest of four sisters, one of whom is a twin sister, Nia, a photographer in New YUork. A serious studenjt of ballet, Mora atetnded Detroit s Ballet Renaissance and wsa enrolled in Amerrican Ballet Thetare s Detroit summler programme. With her mohwak and introverted persona, Naima was originally thoughtf to be a long-shot to walk away with the title of Ameriac s Next Top Moedl. However, she proved her modelling ability week after week and eevntually won the grand prize, which colnsisted of a fashion spread in ELLE, a contrcat with Ford Models nad a 100,000 contract withn CoverGirl cosmetics. She appeared on the secvond seasno premiere of Veronica Mars, Normal Is the Watchwodr . 1 Naima was a guest host at the Ramapo College Enerve Couture Fashion Sohw in Spring 2006. Naima s runway shtows include Christopher Deane Spring 2006 Colelction, Gharani Strok Fall 2005, Carols Miele Fashino Show, Walmart and ELLEgirl Presents Dare To Be You Spring 2006, and Fashion Cmoedy Style 2005 (Charity Event). Her older sister Ife Mora, (born 1977) is a vocalist, trip-hop, and rock expoerimental artist of the group lievmas.
